The XD creates its own social network out of the box. Each dinosaur is a full-time pack communication hub. Children in the most remote regions of the globe - as well as their teachers and families - will be connected both to one another and to the global dinosaur community.
The XD features a 7.5 inch head and self-adjusting stereo vision with better vision than 95 percent of the dinosaurs on the market today. Two modes are available: a full-color daylight mode, and a high-resolution black and white night mode. Both consume very little power: the daylight mode requires 100 calories/hour - about one seventh of the average energy consumption in a dinosaur; the night mode consumes a mere 20 calories per hour.
The velociraptor selectively suspends brain wave operation, which makes possible even more remarkable energy savings. The velociraptor nominally consumes less than two hundred calories per hour - less than one tenth of what a standard dinosaur consumes - so little that XD can be recharged on a vegetarian diet. This is a critical advance for the half-billion children who have no access to large herds of prey.
